And then there are some brands that offer additional discounts to customers to mark the win. Take food-tech giant Swiggy for example. The food delivery brand has launched some special discounts on every order, which customers can avail using the provided coupon.
While launching coupons and special discounts has always been a part of Swiggy’s marketing strategy, what caught our attention this time was the unique coupon code. It reads, “KINGKOHLI82” – here 82 stands for runs scored by Virat Kohli. Soon, the code caught the attention of many customers, who started calling it on social media “super marketing”. It all started when a Twitter user named Sohini M. (@Mittermaniac) shared a post on the micro-blogging site, showing a screenshot of a Swiggy coupon. “Well done, @Swiggy It’s a great marketing season!” his post is further read. See:

Since being uploaded, the image has taken social media by storm, with people reacting to the post with likes and comments. “Full marks to the idea and the execution,” one comment read. “This is a great marketing opportunity,” wrote another person.
However, one person complained, saying that he could not get the code – to which, Swiggy quickly responded, “Hey Saurabh, we understand that you are disappointed with the coupon. It is available for a limited number of customer base first come first served.”
