In a previous post, Saunders also revealed Ironheart’s basic suit with repulsors, as an early clip of the film featured a scene where Namora disables her combat upgrades, forcing Riri to release her armor attachments underwater:

“You can see this design in the costume montage as a schematic of Riri doing it in Wakanda. Unfortunately, we never got to see it in all its glory. Initially, Namora had to disable the combat upgrades and Riri had to remove the armor attachments underwater, leaving her to escape in the basic suit with the boosters, but Unfortunately, it was cut.”

Why is Black Panther 2’s final battle scene great?

Seeing this original setting gave a new perspective on the Wakanda and Talokan war that took place in the sequel.

However, Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverThe final battle location in the middle of the ocean is very strategic. Although many would argue that this was a disadvantage for the Wakandans, Shuri and Riri’s plan to separate Namor from the Talokans worked, but it left their allies vulnerable to the power of their enemies in the water.

However, the oil rig would have helped the Wakandans more since they had an additional platform to fight the Talokans instead of the Royal Sea Leopard. It also allows the African warriors, led by the Midnight Angels and Ironheart, to maximize the massive structure to defeat the underwater creatures.

The sequel ended with Namor and Shuri making peace, but there were many losses on both sides before the pair decided to end the war. The writers may have chosen the ocean setting in the final cut to show the vulnerability of the Wakandans and the weakness of Shuri, who took her first step into leadership.
