Morocco were dreaming of reaching the semifinals before conceding the last goal, becoming the first African nation to reach that far. Croatia, meanwhile, has put the doubters to rest so that the team can repeat its success from 2018 and show that it can be a competitor for years to come. Both teams approached Saturday’s game like it was the end of the World Cup.
