Airbnb’s most wish-listed listings in the world for 2023

In January, Airbnb released a list of the most wish-listed new global listings of 2023.

Each of the 13 listings achieved “Most Liked Listed” status after being listed for just 10 weeks, and may have gotten some help from the many new ways the site can categorize listings — trending, “world’s best.” Presented by Airbnb. That new feature in November 2022.

The 13 locations span six countries and four continents and range from a tiny house to a guest house on a working family ranch.

This 1-bedroom, 2-bathroom cabin on Whispering Creek is nestled in the Smoky Mountains.

The Tennessee Cabin is part of Barefoot Mountain Resort, with neighboring cabins on either side. But the property’s outdoor patio includes a pulldown screen and wooden slats for enhanced privacy.

The modern Smokey MTS Getaway cabin can accommodate up to four guests.

Hidden base – Cape Town, South Africa

This five-bedroom villa overlooks Hout Bay Beach and includes an open-plan kitchen and lounge area with a fireplace overlooking the mountains.

The home’s primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom, while the remaining four bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds and share two bathrooms. Accommodation is inclusive of housekeeping from Monday to Friday.

The Invisible House Joshua tree – Joshua Tree, California.

Known as the Invisible House, this legendary house was designed by filmmaker Chris Hanley. The 22-storey skyscraper with an area of ​​5,500 square feet is set on 90 acres.

The Invisible House has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Some of the amenities include a 100-foot indoor swimming pool, remote-controlled blackout shades, a 13-foot dining table, and wall-to-wall views of the cliffs.

In January, the home was listed for sale for $18 million, according to Architectural Digest.

JT Luxury Villa – Joshua Tree, California.

The desert property offers two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one king and one queen bed. Guests also have the option to rent the casita bedroom, which can accommodate an additional four guests.

Features include a private hot tub, pool, an outdoor kitchen BBQ, a patio area, an outdoor shower and a propane fire pit.

With Casa Coyotes custom-designed and featuring plaster kitchen countertops, bathrooms and floors throughout, hosts provide natural shampoo, conditioner, body and hand wash in their bathrooms and cleaning supplies in the kitchen to preserve surfaces.

Le Moulin Vert – Varennes, France

This renovated 13th century mill has its own millpond and private river. The property’s furniture and furnishings are repurposed and upcycled.

Property owners say this rental is great for families, couples, or friends, but they don’t allow infants or pets.

“The interior is a fusion of French, Moroccan, English and Indian, somehow sitting together within the rustic stone walls of the 13th century mill,” the listing states.

Luxury glass tiny house – Warren, Vermont

This tiny house is in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains. It is made in Estonia and has a Scandinavian design.

The tiny house’s sitting lawn allows for activities like making s’mores by the fire pit, playing corn hole, soaking in the hot tub, or looking out over Sugarbush Ski Resort and its trails.

The house is equipped with heated floors and a rain shower. It includes a queen bed, a kitchenette with a small cooktop, and a mini fridge.

Private Mtn Retreat – Blue Ridge, Georgia

This cabin at Highlands Hideaway in Blue Ridge, Georgia has three bedrooms, one bunk room and three full bathrooms.

It is also equipped with three level decks, a hot tub and a fire pit. The cabin also has a game room with Mrs. Pac-Man machine, oversized Connect Four and tabletop tic-tac-toe for the ultimate gaming experience.

Beautiful A-frame retreat – Grass Valley, California.

Located in the historic mining town of Grass Valley, California, this triangular chalet has plenty of space. Triangle Ranch has five bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms on 3.25 private acres.

Outside the main house is a hot tub, basketball court, fenced dog area and children’s treehouse. There is a deck and patio with a large picnic table for outdoor dining.

Shakup Tower – Broad Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada

If you’re looking for an alternative stay, this cabin-like tower is the place for you. The house is built on 30-foot-tall steel legs and offers 360 views of the surrounding bluff of Cape La Hav and the other La Hav islands. The decks have two narrow alcoves, one to the west and the other to the east.

The east-facing alcove is home to the property’s hot tub, which is “perfectly oriented to watch the moonrise and sunrise,” according to the listing.

Taos Skybox “Stargazer” High Desert Retreat – El Prado, New Mexico

The Taos Skybox “Stargazer” is a one bedroom, one bathroom, sustainably built structure located on 30 acres of private land. It has a full kitchen, laundry, internet, one bedroom and one bathroom.

Perched 7,000 feet above sea level, the home offers 360 views of the Taos Valley. The listing says it’s “meant to take advantage of the dark skies and endless vistas of the high desert landscape.”

This tiny house in Hassan, South Australia, Australia was built between 2018 and 2019. It has its own solar panel system and eco-flow composting toilet.

The owners of the listing provide guests with firewood for both Indoor wood-burning stove and outdoor fire pit. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a queen sofa in the living room.
